What a dramatic night sunset! Today’s weather was just lovely. I was especially happy to see the sun after all the storms and flooding we had in the last week.

I was inspired to work on my flower garden today, so I headed out to Lowe’s.

On the way to the store, I saw these lovely snow-capped mountains!

After searching around the garden section, Albert and I decided to buy the pretty red velvet tulips. We spent the late afternoon cleaning out the front yard and removing the old plants. Now I have pretty blooming tulips to greet me every morning. I hope they grow big and bloom a lot this spring!

It’s Friday and the last day of the week-long storms that keep passing through California. It stopped raining for the most part, so I went out for dinner tonight at Panera Bread, and stopped by Target to get a few things. I can’t tell you how happy I was when I walked down the candy section. Everything there was PINK and RED! And if you’re a Hello Kitty fan, there’s a ton of stuff for you to check out!

I haven’t been out much this past week. But below was my secret on how to tweet and stay warm at the same time. :)

Who needs Farmville when there’s a Lowe’s and Home Depot nearby? It seems like they’re my second home these days. Since I’m off on mandatory vacation until the next year, Albert and I decided to spend more time remodeling some parts of our house… we’ve been going to both Home Depot and Lowe’s a lot this week, buying all sorts of things.

I was hoping to get some scrapbooking done, but that may have to wait until other projects are completed. C’est la vie! :)

I wasn’t crazy enough to stand in line in the middle of the night to buy anything. Sleep and rest is too precious for that. Instead, I woke up and watched the news. Wow, they had to close down a Walmart for 2 hours because people were pushing and shoving… that’s the holiday spirit huh?

I did end up going out around 2pm to see what was left over. The only stores I went to were my favorite craft stores — Joann and Michaels. I spent about 20 minutes in Joann and got all I needed — paper and some Cuttlebug plates. Then I went to Michaels and got some more 12×12 paper and lucky for me, they still had some craft storage things left. These were the doorbusters that were 55% off. Woot! The lines in here weren’t long either. I was in and out in about 25 minutes. I’m glad I made it out safely. :)

Brrrr! I can’t believe how cold it’s been lately. It was so hot last weekend and then temperatures just dropped so much during the week! I guess it is the last week of October after all.. Just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Halloween and stay warm! I’ll be either hibernating or going somewhere much warmer… You can take a guess as to which I choose. :)

I was in desperate need of a haircut. My regular stylist it out this month, so I had to find a new place to go to. I rarely get haircuts as you can see.

Albert found this place called Karen Alen Salon & Spa Aveda on Yelp, so I thought I’d try them out.

So I went mall for a walk-in, and they seated me right away. I was only expecting to get a haircut and shampoo. But the girl at the desk offered me tea, and the whole salon has the scents of aromatherapy. These were such pleasant surprises! There was no smell of strange hair products neat me at all, which was very nice.

So a haircut comes with two free add-ons which included head/should massage, foot bath, hand/arm massage, and a few other things. The haircut also include shampoo and style of course. The girl who did my hair was very sweet! She showed me all the products she used, but there was no pressure to buy anything.

And the part that really caught my eye is the fact that they’re on Twitter and Facebook! You know how much I love social networks. ;)

I had such a wonderful time, and I can’t wait to stop by again. I went in for a haircut, but got a mini spa treament in addition to a new style. Love it. Thank you Karen Allen!

It’s a boy.. and a girl! @dragonal and I finally made the plunge to get iPhones tonight. We waited for a very long time. I’ve been using my iPod Touch for the past few years to test out apps, but having an iPhone is much more convenient. Now I don’t have to worry about finding wifi hotspots for certain apps. The important upgrade was actually having a camera, and the auto-focus on the new one is quite nice.

We arrived at the Apple Store (made an appointment online first of course), and they gave us a ticket and said someone will be with us soon. The moment the guy stepped away, another Apple Genius came by and took our tickets. Very fast service! After filling out the online form to get the first phone activated, the Apple Genius got a glimpse of @dragonal’s HTC Magic (G2) phone and was so excited about it. LOL He kept wanting to take it to show his friends. I guess they see nothing but iPhones all day huh? ;) Well, there’s a geek moment for you!

Then the second phone was activated. The Apple Genius mentioned something about 6 hours before everything is moved over — not surprised because the last time I changed services, it took 24 hours. Surprisingly, the moment after I was given back the phone, it was all activated and both voice + data worked. Wow. So activation probably took 1 or 2 minutes! We were in and out of the Apple Store in no time.

Afterward, we sat down on a nearby bench, downloading apps. Our phones felt naked. ;) I’m a very happy camper. Now I just need to buy accessories, like a car-charger. My iPod Touch car-charger apparently is not made for the iPhone.
