Is anyone else into Disney Pin Trading? I got into it about 3 weeks ago. My friends and I were at Disneyland and every ride had lines that went on for miles! Luckily, I brought the pin trading starter set that Lena gave me a year ago. We only went on two rides, but pin trading kept me occupied for the rest of the day!
How does it work? Basically, you check out the Disney cast member’s pins (the Disney workers) and see if there’s anything you want to trade with them. If you see a pin you like, just trade one of yours for one of theirs. It’s that simple! Other rules are.. you can’t trade with them a pin they already have, and you can’t trade more than two pin at a time with any cast member.
So I started with 4 starter pins. Then I had to buy another starter set that had 7. And well.. I started buying pins that I like to keep instead of trade. And now my lanyard is getting really heavy. :)
It’s getting quite addicting. I’m at the point where I like all of my pins.. so I need to buy another starter set to start trading again! My best find yesterday was a new pin from the Tinkerbell movie, worth $14. I traded it with my $4 pin. :)
My best advice is trading pins with the Disney janitors… why? Because they don’t get that much traffic from visitors since they’re not selling anything. And yes, I got that Tinkerbell pin from a janitor. :)
To the left are some pins I had on Saturday, and in the top photo are the pins I have now. Sometimes it’s so hard to pick which ones to trade!
My friends and I have been wanting to go to Goofy’s Kitchen since we found out about it last year. But you need to make reservations 2 months in advance! Can you believe that? It’s quite popular with the parents and kids! We finally made reservations to celebrate Lena and Jeff’s birthdays!
It’s essentially a buffet where you get to eat with Disney Characters! There’s at least 6 or 8 of them walking around and greeting you every so often. I was having so much fun taking photos with my friends that I kind of forgot about eating! It’s kid-oriented, so there’s a lot of finger foods… and things like peanut butter and jelly pizza. That was quite interesting!
The best part are all the memories we were able to capture. Here are some photos taken by Albertech and me!
I was in Anaheim for a committee meeting today. I’m on the local arrangements committee that’s helping to plan all the fun stuff for the library conference that’s happening in two weeks. The committee members all met up to do a walk-thru of the conference area, hotel, and places within walking distance in Anaheim. I had no idea the day was going to consist of a lot of hiking though! haha I took a ton of photos that I can use for the website. :)
My favorite part of the day was when we finally reached Downtown Disney to scope out the restaurants and buy raffle prizes at the World of Disney Store. Fun! I found the perfect bag for my Dell Mini 9 too!
After our hike around the city, we had a late lunch at PF Changs at the Garden Walk. It’s a great area since it’s so close to the hotel and Disneyland.
So if you need any advice about Anaheim, just ask me. I know most of the in’s and out’s now. :)
