Orianthi Best Buy Concert!

A few days ago, I heard Ryan Seacrest mention that Orianthi will be playing at my local Best Buy this weekend. I’m so happy I caught that announcement!

So my friends and I met up today at Best Buy and watched her perform a few songs from her album. She performed “Drive Away,” “Bad News,” and my favorite “According to You.” For those of us who came earlier, we got a pre-show when she was doing her sound check. :)

If you haven’t heard her music yet, you’ll soon find out that she’s an amazing guitarist. She’s worked with incredible musicians like Carrie Underwood, Steve Vai, Carlos Santana, and Michael Jackson. Here’s a full interview with her from iProng Magazine.

Cirque Du Soleil – The Beatles LOVE

I had the opportunity to see Cirque du Soleil’s Beatles Love show in Las Vegas during Blog World Expo 2009 this year. I have to say it’s one of my favorite Vegas shows so far.

At the entrance of the theatre, your eyes are dazzled with the beautiful color-changing lights that decorate the walkway from top to bottom.

I was pleasantly surprised at how clear and crisp the music was from my seat. I later learned that each seat had 3 speakers on it, which means over 6,500 total in the theatre to create the most complex audio system in the world! I can’t think of a better deserving music than the Beatles Love.

The acrobatics in the show was just incredible. I was in awe at the performer’s gracefulness for such complex moves. It was like watching ballet in the air. And the visual effects were just as amazing. It was a great treat to see the Beatles on stage! Trust me, you have go see the show just for this part!

Each song and scene conveyed just the right emotions. Throughout the show, I was felt a circle of feelings — I laughed, felt sadness, love, and happiness all around. The show was an intimate and powerful entertainment experience and I’m very happy to be a part of it.

The performance was amazing and so is the theatre! The stage is in the center of the theatre, making every seat have a perfect viewing area of the performers.

If you are ever in Las Vegas area, be sure to put Beatles Love on your to-do list. It’s an incredible experience and a memorable show. The Beatles Love show is currently playing at The Mirage in Las Vegas, Nevada on Thursdays through Mondays at 7:00 and 10:00 pm.

The Grove Tree Lighting Event

Natalie Cole and Straight No Chaser

The traffic to The Grove wasn’t too bad. There was just a long line waiting to get into the parking structure. We got there a little after 5pm so we were still quite early!

After we parked and looked down to see the stage, I was just in awe. The lights and decorations were magnificent! I was immediately filled with Christmas spirit!

As I went down each flight of escalator, I could feel the excitement building up! We walked down the red carpet and into this Winter Wonderland… wow, lots of sparkling lights, Santa’s workshop, and giant lolipops!

Next to Santa’s workshop was The Band From TV’s booth. I wanted the cd! And lucky me, they had autographed ones! So I got that and they gave me a raffle ticket to fill out.

We met up with @TechFrog for a bit, had dinner, and he disappeared. lol We headed over to the crowd — and yes, it was VERY crowded. From where I was standing, I was able to see pretty much… nothing. haha But we were close to the speakers, so I could hear all the music.

The show started at 7:30pm and we were greeted by actor and comedian, Jon Lovitz. Natalie Cole sang us the official Christmas song… “Straight No Chaser,” an amazing Acapella group performed, “The Top Hats” danced for us, so did two stars from “Dancing with the Stars.” Santa ‘dropped’ in on stage, and there was falling snow and fireworks all in one night. And at the end, members from The Band from TV filled the stage including Greg Grunberg (Matt Parkman from Heroes), Sendhil Ramamurthy (Mohinder Suresh from Heroes), Christine Rose (Angela Petrelli from Heroes), Adrian Pasdar (Nathan Petrelli from Heroes), James Denton (Mike from Desperate Housewives), Bob Guiney (from the Bachelor), and many more!

And you know what the best part of the night was? Before they started the show, they pulled out the winning raffle tickets for the autographed guitars! Guess whose name got picked?! Yes……. I was so excited, I was all shaking! I still can’t believe I won!

After the show was over, I headed to Santa’s workshop to pick up the guitar. It’s beautiful!! I do need help with figuring out all the signatures. :) Help? Click on the photo and help tag them. :)
