Central Park and Mary Poppins!

Central Park

On Saturday morning, my friends and I went on a search for the famous White Castle burgers from “Harold and Kumar.” When we were finally at our destination, we were in heaven! I really like the originals. :) The cheeseburgers are great too!

After lunch, we walked to Central Park just to relax and enjoy the gorgeous day. The walk through Park Avenue and Madison Ave was really nice. Lots of gorgeous buildings and it made me think of Charlotte from Sex and the City! She must have lived in a condo that overlooked Central Park!

We enjoyed taking photos with some of the cherry blossoms, exploring Belvedere Castle, and just relaxing with nature.

At 3pm, we went to Time Square to see if we could purchase any tickets for a musical show. Luckily, there were some left, and we bought tickets for Mary Poppins! Yay!

Afterward, we headed back to the hotel to pick up our luggage and change hotels. Just one piece of advice, carrying luggage through the subway is definitely not a good idea. heh

Super 8 NYC/ Manhattan/ Times Sq AreaWe returned to Time Square and watched the show. I loved every minute of it! It was Supercali-fragilistic-expiali-docious! Hearing my favorite childhood songs brought back so many memories. I still can’t figure out how Mary pulled the lamp and coat rack out of her purse though!. It was like watching a magic show.. a Disney magic show that is! And I really enjoyed seeing Mary fly by me!! That was a lovely surprise. She looked so graceful in the air!

The night ended well. We walked around Time Square to take more photos. The place was packed! I can’t believe how many people were still walking around at midnight!

Liberty Island & Brooklyn Bridge

Today was a nice sunny day in NYC! My friends and I spent half the day taking photos at Liberty Island. We walked up as high as we can in the monument — to her feet! It was quite the exercise.. work those stairmasters. :) The day was quite fun and peaceful.

We were going to Ellis Island, but spent way too much time at Liberty Island. Oops!

On the Brooklyn BridgeThen we ventured onto the Brooklyn Bridge! That was a fun walk. I only wish I had a bike!

After our hike, we went to dinner at Peter Luger Steakhouse. Yum. Love the bacon there. :)

A Night in Brooklyn

My friends and I took a roadtrip from Washington DC to New York today. We woke up early and got on the road by 8am.

On the way down, we stopped by the famous Geno’s for some Philly steak sandwiches. They were yummy! We also spent an hour taking a look at the Liberty Bell in West Philly.

We made it into New York city by the late afternoon. After resting for a bit, we ventured out into the city. The Grand Central station has been one of my favorite places to visit over and over again.

We took the trains to Macy’s, the biggest store in the world! We had some delicious New York pizza for dinner first. Then did a little shopping. Did you know that you can get 11% off your purchase if you’re a visitor? Visit Macy’s visitor center to find out! I used my visitor discount to buy a jacket — it’s way colder out here than it was in Washington DC.

I wanted to visit my college friend Julie in Brooklyn tonight. I had another college friend in town, so we met up to visit her. After much confusion with the train letters, we ended up in Brooklyn at midnight.

It was just good times when we finally met up. We just chatted for hours at a little place called Moe’s. The night ended well and it was time for us to venture back to the hotel. I do suggest taking the trains much earlier in the day. There was hardly anyone in the subways. But we made it back safely to our hotel by 2:30am. Now it’s time to sleep and get ready for another day’s adventure into the city!

NYC TweetupHey friends, I’ll be vacationing in NYC next week! Yay! It’s one of my favorite cities, and I’d love to have a tweetup and hang out with you.

If you are available, let’s meet in front of ‘Anne Taylor’ in Southstreet Seaport at 6:30pm on Thursday, 3/26. We’ll be hanging out for a while, so come when you can.

Oh yes, and I have a special guest — Bryan Brinkman from Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Show. :) He’s a very talented cartoonist who is interested in learning more about social media and twitter! This will be his very first Tweetup! Follow him at @bryanbrinkman if you’re not already.

And check my tweets at @daynah for the exact location.. I might be browsing in the stores. :)

RSVP on facebook or upcoming. Not required, but it helps me make sure I didn’t leave anyone at the Pier.. :)
